Ministries in the Church

NATIONAL WOMEN’S MOVEMENT OF THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH-GHANA

AIM: To provide a means of expression for the Sisters of the Church. The meetings of the sisterhood provide opportunity for capable deaconesses and leaders to instruct and guide the sisters of the fellowship, particularly on matters which are best handled by women, and also to enable women to publicly bring the gospel to the unsaved. Above all, to enable the Sisters to exercise their peculiar ministry of intercession and prayer.

ORGANISATION:  A national Women’s Superintendent to be appointed by the National Council to chair any national event and be in direct contract with all Area Leaders for the progress of the work among the Sisters in general. An Apostle or Pastor will be appointed  in each Area to sponsor and encourage the Movement, but Sister will be appointed as Area, District and Local Leaders respectively, each taking responsibility according to their call.

Local Assembly Women’s Meetings are held normally in the evening weekly for prayer and instructions with periodical District and Area  rallies which include teaching and evangelism. A national Convention is held biennially. And the Area Leader of the area in which it is  held will be required to assist the National Superintendent to convene it.

NATIONAL WITNESS MOVEMENT OF THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH-GHANA

AIM: The National Witness Movement was established for the young people of the Church for the responsibilities of the Church membership, to train them for evangelism and to harness their energies in practical ministry to the unsaved. Young people will be fully eligible for membership of the Movement at the age of 15, bur younger ones who know the Lord as Saviour should be encouraged to attend. Only those needed as leaders will normally be allowed to continue membership after 35 years of age.

ORGANISATION: The council will appoint a National Witness Leader who will promote the work nationally, chair national conventions and co-ordinate the working of the appointment Area, District and Local Leaders who will take responsibility at their various levels.

The Area Apostle will be in direct and vital contact with the Area Witness Leader to encourage and promote the work among the young, and to use them in evangelical outreach. District and Area Rallies and Conventions to be organized from time to time.

CHILDREN SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY

AIM: To train the next generation and bring the children of our Assemblies to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

ORGANISATION: The National Council of the Church will appoint a General Sunday School Superintendent who will be responsible to report to the National Council on Children Sunday School work, and promote the work in the Assemblies by providing or recommending suitable lessons and literature from time to time.

The work of the Sunday School is vital part of every assembly and comes under the jurisdiction of the local presbytery, which should appoint suitable brother or sister as the local leader/teacher and supervise the choice and type of teachings which will assist the spiritual, physical, social and mental growth of the children. The presbytery must constantly review the work of their children Sunday School, seeking wherever possible to provide incentives for the progress of the work. This can at times involve allowing the children to provide the programme for a public service to which parents who are non-members can be invited and thus come under the sound teaching of the gospel message.

The Sunday School is intended not only to present the gospel to the children, but also to train them in Christian doctrine and living.
