Projects & Social Responsibility

In its bid to expand the biblical apostolic mandate of preaching and teaching the undiluted Word of God far and near in response to the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20, the Apostolic Church, Ghana, has embarked on socio-economic and socio-religious projects in certain areas of the country in furtherance of the objectives of the Kingdom of God.

In the light of this, the Apostolic Church, Ghana since 2006, has been intensifying its divine objectives toward building a progressive fellowship not only with its preaching and teaching, but also being sensitive to its corporate social responsibility, which has resulted in the establishment of a number of long-term projects.

Apart from the Apostolic Bible College in Kumasi owned by the church, which was established in 1964 and trains Ministers of the church, there are over fifty basic schools, as well as leadership training facilities scattered across the country. Some of them are, the Apostolic Primary School at Akim Oda Old Town, Jubilee Junior High School at Kumasi Ash-Town, Teshie Apostolic Academy in Accra, Apostolic Academy at Charles Lane  in Accra, Djaba Road Local Authority Primary School at Somanya (established by the Apostolic Church-Ghana) and the Apostolic School at Koforidua, to mention a few.

In 2008, a modern leadership training edifice of four-storey block christened, ‘The Apostolic Resource, Conference and Retreat Centre’ at Fafraha, near Accra, was formally inaugurated. The centre which is currently being used in training leaders of all sectors of the church can accommodate over 500 people during conferences. The facility, as part of National Council’s plans, will soon become a Christian-based University College for ministerial and academic excellence, as its ultimate goal.

As part of its long-term project endeavours, the church has cultivated about 400 acre land of Teak trees (Tectona grandis) at the Bandai Hill Forest of Agogo in the Ashanti Akyim District in the Ashanti Region. The agroforestry plantation is serving as another avenue for the church to diversify its evangelism, education and social needs of the Aberiwapong, Nyamebekyere and Mankala communities where the project is situated.

The church has also embarked on Animal Husbandry project at the Afram Plains in the Kwahu West District with emphasis on Cattle Ranch which started three years ago. The Fish Farm project of the church at Asuboi in the Eastern Region can boast of first-class tasty Tilapia which are being reared in a 100 x 100 meters pond for sale to the public.

The latest project which the church has embarked upon is the Yam and Oil  Palm Plantation at Kpassa in the Nkwanta North District in the Volta Region.

All the above mentioned projects and many more which are in the pipeline, are aimed at creating opportunities for the church to use the talents and skills of its professionals through such long-term projects to generate small-scale businesses, obtain quality jobs in the communities, provide effective humanitarian services and, at the end of the day, build financial assets in support of the family units of the church’s numerous members.

Furthermore, the church wishes on the other hand, to augment the socio-economic efforts of the government, hence the projects. Besides that, it is the responsibility of the church not only to assist the membership to grow spiritually, but also, to  use the physical projects as means of raising extra income for  the improvement of the life of society.

The church, since its inception in 1935, has through its holistic evangelism activities, been able to improve the lifestyle of many people in Ghana. For instance, by the power of the Holy Spirit, several people not privileged to have formal education were taught to read and write English and some of the local languages and also read the Bible effectively. Some are also able to compose gospel songs and hymns in their local dialects. While some of the church members, by the virtue of the holistic Christian training, are today occupying high positions in various sectors of the Ghana’s economy.
