Elder Daniel Fahene Acquaye, Chairman of the Apostolic Professionals Network (APN) and a devoted member of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, has been honoured by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a drone innovation facility named after him.
The Dan F. Acquaye Drone Innovation and Simulation Unit was officially unveiled on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, during the opening ceremony of KNUST’s E-Learning Week. The facility is located at the university’s E-Learning Centre and is designed to equip young Ghanaians with drone piloting and mapping skills to support modern agriculture.
While unveiling the facility, KNUST’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, and the Director of the E-Learning Centre, Professor Eric Appau Asante, commended Elder Acquaye and Agri-Impact Limited, for their lasting contribution to education, innovation, and national development.
Elder Acquaye, who fellowships with the Mt. Zion Assembly at Asylum Down, Accra, is a highly respected agribusiness expert and the Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Impact Limited. He has consistently championed youth empowerment, agribusiness transformation, and technological advancement both in the Church and in the nation.
The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the President of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, his wife, First Lady Josephine D. Ami-Narh, the General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Immanuel Tettey, among other esteemed guests.
Speaking at the unveiling, Elder Acquaye shared how the facility is expected to transform agricultural practices through precision farming. “This unit will empower young people to support farmers with drone-based monitoring, nutrient application, and data collection—lowering production costs and enhancing productivity,” he noted.
He added that the project would give rise to a new generation of agripreneurs who can provide services such as drone mapping, soil analysis, and early disease detection—not only in Ghana but across West Africa.
Elder Acquaye also highlighted the work being done through the “HAPPY” Program (Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth), a Mastercard Foundation initiative in partnership with Agri-Impact Limited and other partners. He explained that through digital innovations such as the E-HAPPY platform, young people are being equipped with tools in e-extension, e-commerce, and digital agribusiness services. So far, over 190,000 job opportunities have been created, with a target of 326,000 across key value chains like rice, soybean, tomato, and poultry.
Elder Acquaye has served in various leadership capacities within the Church and remains a pillar in advancing the mission of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, especially in professional development and youth empowerment. His life and work continue to reflect the Church’s vision of transforming society through Christ-centred service.
Elder Dan, congratulations.
