The crowd of witnesses gathered in fellowship, gratitude, songs of praise, and heartfelt tributes at The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Ashaiman Central Assembly (the Valley of Praise), on Sunday, 14th September 2025, to celebrate the remarkable ministry of Pastor Peter Ransford Kabu Awidi and his family.
Pastor Awidi, a born-and-bred Apostolic, began his walk with God early in life. In 1975, he accepted Christ, and in April 1976, he was baptized by the late Apostle A.K. Anderson of blessed memory. His passion for ministry was evident from the start, as he took up the noble task of teaching Sunday School, where he became one of the first formally trained teachers under the Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc., Tema Region.
On July 1, 2008, Pastor Awidi was officially called into the pastoral ministry, and six years later, on September 13, 2014, he was ordained during the National Witness Convention held in Tema. His first station as a minister was at the Zenu Assembly in the Ashaiman District, under the then Tema Administrative Area.
Over the years, Pastor Awidi’s service extended far beyond the local assembly. He contributed immensely at both National and Area levels, distinguishing himself in leadership and administration. He served as First National Secretary for the Men’s Movement (2000–2010), Secretary of the National Literature/Editorial Committee (1999–2015), and in many other key roles. As of September 2025, he faithfully held the position of Head of the Corporate Affairs Unit at the General Headquarters.
His ministry has left an indelible mark on countless lives and stands as a true testament to God’s faithfulness and grace within The Apostolic Church-Ghana. Speaking at his retirement and appreciation service, Apostle Dr. Christian Koramoah, Director of IMD, remarked: “Your retirement is a new season; you will live for God in fresh ways, and there will be opportunities to serve God in new ways.”
As we celebrate his legacy, we pray that in this new chapter of life, the Lord will continue to bless and sustain Pastor Awidi and his family with joy, peace, and good health. His pioneering spirit, leadership, and devotion to God’s work have inspired many and will continue to serve as a guiding light for generations. Though his active ministry will be missed, the impact of his service remains etched in the life of the Church.
