“The God That Answers By Fire” is our prophetic and revival theme, prayerfully chosen to drive us through the Lord’s mandate on the 90th Anniversary convention that, STILL, there is a God who answers by fire.
From age to age, generation to generation, our God has never changed. He remains the same consuming fire who manifests His power, consumes the works of darkness, and reveals His glory among His people.
As the songwriter declares, “All other gods, they are the works of men; You are the Most High God, there is none like You.” Indeed, the works of men that exhibit objects as gods reveal the limitations of a man who is not in Christ.
The introduction of Prophet Elijah in the Bible was captured in 1 Kings 17 where he shut the heavens for a period of three and a half year. Elijah appeared from no where and made a decree, which decree, suffered the entire nation of Israel not to see rain until his final words were released again. This was a man of authority, a man of God’s power and a man who understood his divine assignment.
Scrolling to the 18th Chapter of 1st Kings, Prophet Elijah appeared again with the challenge he issued unto the prophets of Baal. He challenged the entire divination of the Baal camp so that the true nature of our immortal God be revealed. The challenge was simple:
“Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.”
1 Kings 18:23-24 (KJV)
Elijah threw this challenge, not because he wanted to draw the attention of men but because of his eagerness to magnify the great God amongst all other gods. Do you magnify God in your space? Like Elijah, do not give Baal a space. When the voice of doubt is raised, silence it with the utterance of the fire. Let us not give any room for any Baal around us. Elijah was a “walking fire” not because of himself but because of the God he carried and such is the apostolic man in Christ.
Surprisingly, the gifts of the Church are still within the Church. Use them to the fullest! We serve the same God who answered Elijah by fire. He has not distanced himself even an inch. The long-awaited revival is here. Thanks be to God, for our generation has heard the echoes of revival and has sparked the fire anew. I see the God who answers by fire once again doing wonders in His Church. Fresh fire! Pure Fire!
Be a carrier of the sparked fire, and let it be contagious.
The Lord bless you.
