A ROOM FOR JESUS, OUR IMMANUEL : A PRIORITIZED RELATIONSHIP NOT DISTANCE

We live in the same environment with people, and we might even be in good terms with this people  however, there are some critical circumstances that occur in our lives, we call on special people outside the people closer to us. This is because the relationship with these special people or the bond that we have with them is much stronger than we can imagine.

This implies that the matrices of measuring the closeness to someone, is not on the template of physical parameters of distance. It is on the corridor of valued relationship.

The closeness of God to Christians, is very unique and can be understood in two ways; Immanence – that is the belief that God is everywhere and He lives in His creation. Many people both Christians and non-Christians alike believe that there is a clear evidence of God in His creation. However,

In Transcendence, we Christians believe that God is far away not by distance but man being the master of his own life, detaching himself from his source of life (God). In transcendence, God out of His own benevolence became immanent through Christ Jesus to give life to man. So, the closeness of God to us is on the corridor that we embrace Jesus Christ our Immanuel  God with us, without any delay.

God to be with us, needs a room to stay and Jesus is not a visitor that we only give Him a guest room, treating Him as a guest or a visitor. He is not a “feel at home” visitor. We are his home because He made and owns us. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3

We cannot give Jesus our time on Sunday and refuse Him our Monday to Saturday, we cannot commit our work and businesses to Jesus and deny Him our salaries and profits, most outstandingly, we cannot give Jesus our body and deny Him our heart.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” Revelation 3:20

This posit is clear on how we are eager calling Jesus and He is always hearing us, and kept knocking the doors of our hearts yet we ignore Him completely.

Could it be that our relationship with Him is on transactional basis or we are interested in the traditions in the Church and neglect His guidance?

We cannot afford to loose this opportunity for Jesus is still knocking let us open our heart for Him to sit on the throne of our hearts. When we make a room for Him in our hearts, His kingdom begins to reign on earth. His glory will fill the government, the ministries, agencies, academics, entertainment, and our offices. Hallelujah!
