There comes a time when all the noise, the running, and even the church activities are not enough to satisfy the soul. Our hearts become dry, our fire fades, and the things of God do not stir us like they used to do. In moments like these, there is only one prayer that truly matters: “Revive us again, O Lord.”
We are not asking for a new song, a fresh sermon, or a louder service. What we need is a fresh encounter with God’s presence a revival not just in our churches, but in our hearts. Psalm 85:6 pleads, “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” This is not just the cry of a past generation. It is ours now. Many of us are going through the motions, smiling outwardly, but broken inside. But the good news is: God still revives.
Revival begins with honesty. Hosea 6:1-2 invites us, “Come, let us return to the Lord… He will revive us, He will restore us, that we may live in His presence.” Maybe you feel far from God. Maybe shame whispers lies or your past screams louder than your faith. Yet revival often begins in weakness, in hunger, in the longing to feel God again.
Though not all are willing, those who come to God in their weakness find that He meets them there, reviving the humble, restoring the broken, and breathing life into surrendered hearts. Psalm 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” Weariness is not weakness to God, it’s an invitation. If you feel tired, distant, or broken, you are exactly where His revival can begin.
The hour is urgent, and this generation is parched for a move of God that is real and restoring. 2 Chronicles 7:14 still holds true: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
We must return. Not just to church, but to God. Not just to the crowd, but to the secret place. Not just to performance, but to presence. Revival starts with you and me, on our knees, with hearts crying out, “Lord, revive me again.” Not just for blessings or excitement, but so we can burn for Him again, walk in holiness, and live in His power.
The Spirit of God is hovering, always moving. Are we ready to make room? Are we willing to lay aside our pride, our distractions, our busyness, and return to the secret place? Revival does not come where there is no room, it comes where hunger meets surrender.
“LORD, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds. Repeat them in our day…” (Habakkuk 3:2). May this be our cry. Revive us, O Lord. Not tomorrow. But now.
