Amidst an atmosphere of celebration, gratitude and anticipation, a new chapter in the leadership of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) was opened as Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera was inducted as the Council’s new General Secretary. The ceremony, held on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Kokomlemle–Accra, brought together church leaders, representatives of member churches, ministers, family, friends and well-wishers to witness the formal transition and celebrate the new assignment.
The induction marked the beginning of Pastor Dr. Gyamera’s tenure following the completion of the four-year service of Apostle Immanuel Nii Okuley Tettey, who served as General Secretary of the Council. Pastor Dr. Gyamera comes into the office with a rich blend of pastoral ministry, leadership, administration and academic experience. His journey of service in The Apostolic Church-Ghana spans more than two decades, having begun in 2001 during his student years.
At the University of Cape Coast, he served as President of the UCC Chapter of The Apostolic Church Students and Associates (APOSA) and concurrently as National Vice Leader of the association. His early involvement in student ministry provided a foundation for a journey that would see him take on increasing responsibilities within the Church. Over the years, Pastor Dr. Gyamera has served The Apostolic Church-Ghana in various capacities, including Project Team Leader, Presiding Elder, Pastor and Director of Administration at the Church’s Headquarters in Accra. He also served as Resident Pastor of the Amamoma Assembly in Cape Coast and currently pastors at the Peace Villa District, Haatso–Accra.
His academic journey has also been marked by significant achievement. He holds a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture, a Master of Philosophy in Animal Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Nutrition, alongside further studies and professional training in Business Administration. These experiences have shaped a minister whose service cuts across pastoral ministry, administration, leadership, academia and organisational development, providing a strong foundation for the responsibility he now assumes at the GPCC.
In his exhortation, Aps. Dr. Nana Anyani Boadum said the weight of stewardship is not the seat one occupies as a leader, but what he does. He maintained that, the weight is not a burden to crush the steward, but a calling, an authority and a responsibility as granted by God. He said, the mantle given to Elisha was an obligation and an assignment. Directing his message to the new General Secretary, Aps. Anyani Boadum said, he must focus on pleasing Christ, the Head of the Church, to whom he would be accountable, ensure radical transparency as well as protecting the doctrinal integrity and unity of the Council.
Pastor Dr. Gyamera’s induction therefore represents more than the assumption of a new office. It marks another chapter in a life of service and provides a new opportunity for The Apostolic Church-Ghana to contribute to the advancement of the Church through Ghana’s largest ecumenical body. TAC-GH congratulates Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera on his induction and prays that God will grant him wisdom, strength and grace to serve faithfully and make a meaningful impact in the assignment entrusted to him.
