Ninety years ago, some brave men and women were bold enough to believe. They heard the voice of God, obeyed the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and began the work which would grow into one of Ghana’s most spiritually powerful and enduring Pentecostal movements: The Apostolic Church- Ghana. Today, we are the fruits of their vision, perseverance, and unyielding faith.
Our ancestors were men of resolute faith and unyielding spirit. When the expression of Pentecostal faith was opposed, not comprehended, and persecuted, they stood firm. They proclaimed with zeal, prayed with strength, and planted the seed of a church that would survive and bless generations to come.
They possessed nothing but sacrificed everything. They were not driven by self, but by a zeal of the Lord for the Gospel. In adversity, in tribulation, in cruel persecution, they held on; not for themselves, but for Christ and His Church.
This 90th Anniversary is more than a number. It is a sacred observance of God’s faithfulness and human devotion. It is a remembrance of prayers said, journeys embarked upon, churches established, and countless souls brought to the Lord. It is an occasion for review, thanksgiving, and renewed dedication to the ministry of Christ in and through The Apostolic Church-Ghana.
This turning point must not be taken lightly, put off, or minimized by excuse. It must be celebrated in its entirety; not as occasion alone or play, but as a solemn act of honour to our God and to those who paid the price for this inheritance which we now enjoy.
As we approach this historic celebration, let us remember: this is not about any of us, individually. It is not a time for agendas, choice, or parties. The Church is bigger than any of us. Our forefathers set aside their egos, comfort, and ambitions to become part of something greater. We owe them and God, not to allow selfishness and pride to stand in the way of this sacred moment.
Let no individual interest come ahead of the mission of the Church. Let our decisions not be by whom they profit but by that which glorifies God and honours our shared heritage. One Church, one family, one mission.
As members, ministers, and stewards of this glorious Apostolic vision, let us stand up anew. Let us assist each other in this anniversary with enthusiasm; by presence, by prayer, by substance, and by unity.
Let our praise ring out far and wide. Let our tale be told loud and clear. Let the vision of our forefathers guide us. And above all, let the name of Jesus be lifted high.
Let us renew our commitment of sacrifice, expecting the God of the Apostolic Church to move mightily and do the greater things again.
