The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has marked a significant leadership transition with a Farewell and Induction Service held on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Kokomlemle, Accra. The service marked the end of the tenure of Apostle Immanuel Nii Okuley Tettey as General Secretary of the GPCC and the commencement of a new chapter under Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera, who was inducted as his successor.
The occasion brought together leaders and representatives of member churches, ministers, family, friends and other stakeholders of the Council to honour Apostle Tettey for his service and welcome Pastor Dr. Gyamera into the new responsibility. The transition holds particular significance for The Apostolic Church-Ghana (TAC-GH), as both the outgoing and incoming General Secretaries are ministers of the Church. Their service to the GPCC reflects the contribution of TAC-GH to the wider Pentecostal and Charismatic community and its commitment to strengthening Christian unity and collaboration in Ghana.
Apostle Immanuel Nii Okuley Tettey served as General Secretary of the GPCC for four years, during which he contributed to strengthening the Council’s prophetic voice, promoting national peace and enhancing its engagement with Government, civil society, ecumenical bodies and other national stakeholders. Under his Secretaryship, the Council advanced initiatives in member-church integration and ministerial capacity building, including training programmes in Pastoral Counselling and Financial Management for ministers across several regions. He also supported the Council’s institutional development through initiatives such as the GPCC History Book project and work towards the development of a permanent office facility for the Council.
His tenure further saw the GPCC engage in national peace efforts ahead of the 2024 General Elections, including the mobilisation of Religious Leaders and other stakeholders for the deployment of trained electoral observers across selected regions. He also contributed to community impact initiatives, including the construction of a water supply system for residents of Abonse in the Eastern Region in memory of Aps. D. Sarforo, a founding father of the GPCC. Throughout his tenure, Apostle Tettey was recognised for his leadership, integrity and commitment to the mission of the Council. His service strengthened the GPCC’s national influence and institutional capacity while deepening its engagement with the wider Christian community.
Taking over the responsibility is Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera, another minister of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, whose induction marks another opportunity for TAC-GH to contribute to leadership within the wider Christian fraternity. Pastor Dr. Gyamera has served the Church in various capacities since 2001, including as a student Christian leader, Presiding Elder, Pastor and Director of Administration at The Apostolic Church-Ghana Headquarters. He previously served as Resident Pastor of the Amamoma Assembly in Cape Coast and currently a pastor at the Peace Villa District, Haatso-Accra. His experience in pastoral ministry, administration, leadership and academia positions him for the responsibility ahead.
The transition also provided an opportunity for The Apostolic Church-Ghana to express appreciation for Apostle Tettey’s service to the GPCC while welcoming Pastor Dr. Gyamera into his new assignment. The Church celebrated the confidence reposed in its ministers to serve the wider Body of Christ and prayed for God’s continued grace, strength and wisdom for both leaders as they enter new seasons of service.
For Pastor Dr. Gyamera, the transition represents not only a change in leadership but also a continuation of service to the Pentecostal and Charismatic community in Ghana. The Apostolic Church-Ghana celebrates Apostle Immanuel Nii Okuley Tettey for his service to the GPCC and welcomes Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera into his new responsibility, trusting God for a fruitful tenure and continued impact in the advancement of His work.
