The Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship (AMWF) of The Apostolic Church-Ghana has successfully completed and dedicated a modern hostel facility, The Encounter Lodge, at Abisim in the Eastern Region. The dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, 1st August 2026, marking another significant milestone in the Fellowship’s commitment to advancing the work of God and supporting the mission of the Church.
The project was spearheaded by the Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship Executive Committee, led by Dcs. Josephine D. Ami-Narh, with the support of Dcs. Esther Affum-Nyarko (Second Lady), Dcs. Gladys Boateng (Leading Leader), Lady Vida Lamptey (Secretary), Lady Juliana Koramoah, Lady Dr. Helen Tettey, Lady Dr. Adwoa Adjei Nkansah, Lady Margaret Paddy, Lady Fafali Akuamuah, and Lady Matilda Addison (Representative for Foreign Missions). Through their collective vision, commitment, and dedication, the Fellowship successfully delivered the project, further demonstrating its passion for advancing God’s Kingdom through the Ladies in Missions initiative.
The sod-cutting ceremony for the facility was held on 24th January 2026 during the 11th Fire Conference at Abisim, a historic Apostolic community. Although the construction was projected to be completed within six calendar months, work commenced on 1st March 2026 and was completed within four months, well ahead of schedule, paving the way for its official dedication on 1st August 2026.
The Encounter Lodge was purposefully designed to provide a serene environment for prayer, fasting, retreats, conferences, and personal spiritual renewal. The facility comprises three executive rooms, seven standard rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and six modern washroom facilities, with the capacity to accommodate approximately 40 people at a time.
The dedication ceremony was attended by the Chief of Abisim, Nene Barfour Adjarnor IV, the Leadership of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, retired Ascension Ministers, Movement Leaders, Pastors from the Suhum and Koforidua Areas, members of the Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship, and the local community.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, commended the Fellowship for its remarkable achievement and urged members of the Church and the general public to take good care of the facility. He emphasized that, preserving the lodge would ensure, it continues to serve generations as a place of prayer, spiritual encounters, and transformation.
The Encounter Lodge adds to the many impactful initiatives undertaken by the Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship through its Ladies in Missions projects, reflecting the Fellowship’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Church’s mission beyond traditional ministry. Beyond providing accommodation, the facility will serve as a centre where individuals, families, ministers, and Christian groups can retreat from the demands of daily life to seek God’s face in an atmosphere of peace and devotion.
The dedication coincided with the 12th Edition of the Fire Conference, held at the Apostle Daniel Tetteh Tenobi Memorial Temple, which attracted over 800 participants, comprising members and non-members from across the country. The commissioning of The Encounter Lodge added a memorable highlight to the conference, inspiring many with the testimony of what can be accomplished through unity, sacrifice, and faithful stewardship.
As a symbol of vision, dedication, and faithful service, The Encounter Lodge stands as a lasting legacy of the Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship. It is expected to become a place where lives are transformed, ministers are refreshed, believers experience deeper encounters with God, and generations yet unborn will continue to benefit from the foresight and commitment of the women who made this vision a reality.
